Welcome to The Nerve

I write about power — where it actually lives, how most of us were trained to give it away, and what becomes possible when you stop.

I’m Tiffany Crawford. Berkeley EECS grad. Former Deloitte consultant who led Fortune 100 transformations. Fifteen years at the intersection of technology, leadership, and human potential. And someone who has spent a long time studying what actually creates lasting change — including the traditions and practices that most business spaces won’t touch.

What I’ve learned is that the deepest leverage isn’t strategic. It’s structural. Not the org chart kind. The kind that lives inside your body.

This publication is for anyone who senses that the old playbook is breaking down. Who has done everything right by external measures and still hits a ceiling they can’t explain. Who has started to suspect that the constraint isn’t their capability but something deeper — something that was installed long before they had a say in it.

I name what you’re feeling before you have the words for it. And once it’s named, it can start to move.

🐝 What You Get as a Free Subscriber

Essays that name the patterns running underneath your success, your leadership, and your life — written to land in your body, not just your mind.

Like this one on why emotional regulation might actually be self-suppression: → What If Emotional Regulation Is Actually Self-Suppression?

Or this one on what the collapse of institutional trust is actually revealing: → The Trust Recession Isn’t a Crisis. It’s a Correction.

These are free. They always will be. The naming is the gift.

💎 Consider Going Paid ($12/month or $120/year)

The free essays name the thing. The paid essays stay with it — into the body of it, into what it’s actually costing you, into the part most people skip because it’s uncomfortable. The part that changes something.

Here’s what you get as a paid subscriber:

  • The deeper cut on every essay — the second half that goes into what the pattern means for you personally, not just the world. Like the part of the anger essay where I trace how the same wound shows up as the angry Black woman, white fragility, and wounded masculinity — three costumes, one wound, laid next to each other in a way most people have never seen.

  • Monthly voice notes — unproduced, unscripted, me talking to you the way I’d talk if you were sitting across from me. Some things land differently when they’re spoken.

  • A monthly body-based practice — not a worksheet. Something you can feel.

  • The Reading Circle — we read together and go into what the text opens up. Part book club, part practice, part conversation.

  • Live mini-workshops — for paid subscribers only.

  • The full paid archive — every essay, every practice, every voice note, available anytime.

  • Subscriber chat — a room where you’re not the only one feeling it.

If the free post is me walking into a room and saying something that makes everyone stop talking, the paid post is what I say after the room clears and it’s just the people who stayed.

The annual price — $120/year — is ten months instead of twelve. For the people who already know they’re staying.

✨ An Invitation to Join the Founding Circle ($350/year)

Founding members are not just reading the work. They’re in the room where it happens.

Everything in paid, plus:

  • The Quarterly — a live session, where I share what I’m seeing and naming in real time. You’re there while it’s happening, not after it’s been edited into an essay. Think of it as the live version of what my writing does — I read the room, I name the thing, we feel it together.

  • Early and discounted access to everything I build — workshops, programs, courses, intensives. Founding members are always first in and always at the best price. One discounted workshop spot alone can be worth more than the annual membership.

  • Pay it forward — your founding membership sponsors a paid subscription for someone who needs this work but can’t afford it right now. Your presence here creates access for someone else.

What to Expect

Essays that name what you’ve been feeling but couldn’t articulate. Cultural commentary through the lens of power and the body. Poetry that lands before your mind catches up. Voice notes from the other side of the essay. And practices that make the invisible visible.

No optimization hacks. No hustle culture dressed up in softer language. No frameworks for succeeding inside a system that was never designed for you to thrive.

This is The Nerve. Body Intelligence, Power, and Reclamation.

I’m glad you’re here.
